Our 1st XV return to Ganger Farm as they host New Milton in their first home Hampshire Counties II fixture.

The side will be hoping to clinch their first victory of the campaign, after suffering a disappointing defeat last weekend on the Isle of Wight.

Ryan Daly’s 44th minute try, converted by Ricky Drewitt, was only a mere consolation following three tries from Ventnor handing them a 17-7 victory.

The loss means the side head into the New Milton clash in 10th position, and up against a side which will be brimming with confidence from their first-class display on the opening weekend. New Milton sit second in the league standings, having thrashed United Services, Portsmouth 39-0 at Normans Way last weekend.

1st XV coach Jason Berry’s pre-match thoughts:

Berry: “I’m quite nervous heading into Saturday if I’m honest. The week we’ve had hasn’t been great, however, I would like to publicly say thank you to Ventnor for all of their support.

“New Milton will be a tough challenge for us, however, I’m just hoping the lads heads are in the right place for the game.”
